If you apply glue to origami paper and stick it down, it may wrinkle or the piece may curl up.
Depending on the design, even if you cut it out neatly, the results may not be what you expected when you stick it on.
This pattern is designed to be relatively easy to cut out and glue down.
Paste the cut out piece onto origami paper (15cm square).
When you stick the piece on the box it will be wrinkled at first, but once it dries it will look like the picture.
The box measures 15cm x 15cm x 15cm, so it's easy to attach 15cm square origami paper.
Once completely dry, use the money box guide to make the holes.
Folding the box flat will make it easier to poke holes.
*When using sharp objects such as utility knives, please be careful not to injure yourself.
(Tips for applying neatly)
- When attaching your piece to the origami paper, apply glue evenly to the entire back of the piece.
- Place your piece on the origami paper and stick it down trying to avoid creating wrinkles as much as possible.
- Make sure there is no air between the piece and the origami paper.
- Take a rolled up tissue or similar material in your hand and gently pat the piece from the center out to all four sides.
- When pasting the 15cm square origami piece onto the box, make sure it sticks out a little from the edge of the box.
*The glue used in the method introduced here is a water-based type of glue (the kind that children can apply with their hands).
No solid glue sticks or tape-type glue are used.
It is listed on the official Kids Idea website.
